South Beach/Zoom Tan location FAQs

1. How old do you have to be to UV tan?
This differs state by state. In Florida and Georgia we require that you be at least 15 with parental consent. Pennsylvania has a state minimum tanning age of 17 with parental consent and New York requires that you must be an adult (18+ yrs) to UV tan. NOTE: A government issued photo ID (passport, drivers license or state identification card) is required for all tanners (including minors) on the first visit so we can set up your profile.
2. How old do you have to be to Spray tan?
There is no age limit on spray tanning, we just ask that you are able to follow directions. NOTE: A government issued photo ID (passport, drivers license or state identification card) is required for all tanners (including minors) on the first visit so we can set up your profile.
3. Do I need to make an appointment to tan?
At South Beach/Zoom Tan location we only take walk-ins, so you can always come in whenever you are ready!
4. Do you accept cash?
None of the South Beach/Zoom Tan location salons take cash. We accept debit or credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover). We also accept gift and prepaid cards for any non recurring purchases.
5. Will my skin look orange if I spray tan?
No, absolutely not. The advanced technology currently used in sunless tanning solutions is designed to ensure a natural, bronze tan. The salon associate can help you select the proper level of tanning solution to best match your skin tone.
6. What instructions or tips are there for spray tanning?
When you come in to spray tan we recommend you:
  • Shower, shave, and exfoliate (recommended but not necessary) prior to your visit so that you have clean fresh skin for the spray tan to go on to.
  • Try to wear (or bring) something loose or baggy to put on after you spray so that you don't smudge areas of your tan before it has time to set.
  • Do NOT apply (or be sure to remove) any lotions, makeup, perfumes or moisturizers prior to your spray because they can act as a barrier.
  • South Beach/Zoom Tan location does provide a barrier cream for your palms, fingers, toes and feet that you SHOULD apply in the spray room prior to tanning because the skin in those areas tend to darken much faster.
  • After your spray tan, we recommend waiting a MINIMUM of 6-8 hours before you shower (rinse only) or get wet to make sure the spray completely sets into your skin. Waiting longer, if possible, is even better for maximum results.
7. How long will my spray tan last?
Every individual is different and a spray tan's duration can vary depending on application/prepping, your skin type, daily habits and lifestyle. Typically, spray tans last an average of 5 to 7 days. South Beach/Zoom Tan location also offers a spray tanning prep lotion and an Ultra Pro Upgrade for spray tanning that preps your skin for better absorption and tends to increase the longevity of your tan. Ask an associate about either product for more details.
8. What do I need to bring with me in order to tan at South Beach/Zoom Tan location?
In order to tan we require that you bring a valid driver's license & cell phone on your first visit. UV tanning also requires proper eye wear that is available for purchase at any South Beach/Zoom Tan location salon if you do not have your own.
